I've had the last 2 days off from work and let me tell you, it's great!
Sure, there's that feeling of being lucky and honestly, when I think about it... not as many people get the chance that I have. I get paid salary so it doesn't matter how much I work at all. I can be totally lazy and still get paid at the same.
Not that I am lazy. Far from it.
So what have I been doing? Enjoying the day's moments. Have you ever heard of the saying, "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Sadly, too many people are concerned about yesterday or too worried about tomorrow.
Here's my advice on that. Yesterdays are done and long gone. As they are gone, let bygones be bygones and let us not worry or dwell on what isn't here anymore. As for the morrow which isn't here yet, let your mind be at peace and worry not. Right here, right now, that's all we have and let us embrace it.
As I write these words, I am embracing this moment and if you will, gently close your eyes for a few seconds take a deep breath and embrace this time, which will never happen again. It's phenomenal how we forget to enjoy the now.
And, since my world is changing so much (internally) the way I view love and compassion these days are much deeper than I have felt in the past. It's hard to watch sad things without tearing up and hard not to dance when I see a catchy music video.
We must remember to embrace and continually learn to guide ourselves to enjoy our short lives here on this Earth.
